Detailed information about the Eclipse of November 13, 2012

a

A total solar eclipse will take place on 13-14 November, 2012, with a magnitude of 1.0500.

For this eclipse totality will be visible from northern Australia and the southern Pacific Ocean.

When seen from west of the International Date Line, for example from Port Douglas & Cairns in Australia, the eclipse will take place on the morning of November 14. Greatest eclipse, of duration 4 min 2 sec, will occur east of the International Date Line on November 13, approximately 2000 km east of New Zealand, and 9600 km west of Chile, visible only as a partial eclipse on sunset from the coast.

This particular Total Solar Eclipse will play host to the worlds first Solar Eclipse Marathon to take place in Port Douglas The race of over 2,000 international competitors and race ambassador Steve Moneghetti will commence as the first rays of the sun re-emerge from behind the moon bringing about the worlds first "intergalactic starting gun".

ECLIPSE coming to the USA!

Incredible opportunity for MILLIONS, (see information near the bottom of this page).

Total Solar Eclipse

aNowadays, with modern affordable (well sort of for some of us) air travel, you can see and experience a real total solar eclipse in person.

You can even book to go on a cruise ship if the area of maximum is over water! Imagine the thrill of being exactly in the area of totality, so awesome. It must surely be something that cannot be really recorded with just a camera. To experience it in person with your own eyes is the way to go!

There are other types of eclipses - total solar, partial solar, annular, and lunar. Partial eclipses are pretty happen fairly regularly.

Lunar eclipses can be seen only at night, but the attraction is that it can be viewed by half the planet in one shot, that covers a lot of people! But they are so BORING! Sorry, but it's like watching paint dry - OMG. You need to be partying or something to survive the many hours it takes to complete the transit.

Annular solar eclipses are not as common, but you need to use filters to see them, it's better you don't even know about them to avoid eye damage anyway.

But a TOTAL SOLAR eclipse -- this is a rare, and extremely beautiful experience, and the naked-eye breathtaking sight of totality is absolutely awe-inspiring to everyone in the microscopically narrow path in the center line! They are a "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity to see the power of nature at its best. (So different than the horrifyingly negative display of nature, such as a tsunami or earthquake).

Please scroll down to see upcoming events.

Detailed information about each and every upcoming eclipse will be posted.

As the event becomes closer, flight and cruise information will be posted here.

See a total solar eclipse viewable in the continental US!

The USA hasn't seen an eclipse since 1991

This will be the first one to be seen countrywide since way back in 1918

The US has waited 26 years, that's long enough. Get ready for a lot of interest as this fuss about the 2017 event gets closer. Drop everything you would be doing on that special day and for once enjoy something really different for 2 and 1/2 terrific minutes.

"Only two and a half minutes? No way! I'm not even gonna waste my time for that!"

No, no - believe me - Get yourself there; get to the shadow, and see something you simply won't believe. You won't be wasting your time - not by a long shot.

Trust me please!

Please bookmark this page and I will keep you informed about all of the details.
